As we all know, the summer of 2020 has been very different. I almost felt like it wasn’t even any point taking a vacation. But vacation it was! I tried to enjoy it while staying pretty much isolated… Social distancing is something I take very seriously. I don’t want to become ill or be the one spreading a virus that can hurt someone else. But I’m gonna try to avoid talking about the coronavirus… Even though it has affected my summer and my vacation a lot.
Making the best of the situation
I don’t think I’ve ever spent that much time alone, to be honest. In retrospect, I’d like to say that it did me good. Being comfortable in my own company is a big plus, and I feel like my ability to be just that has definitely grown during the vacation. I have done a lot of different stuff and been less busy… Some of the highlights of my vacation have been in my own company, while others has been social distancing with only my two closest friends.
Barbecue with my girls
Like I mentioned, I have spent time with my two closest friends when I wanted to socialize. We heard that the best thing is that if you are gonna spend time with others, then you don’t do it in a closed space. Because of that, we decided to do a barbecue in my backyard. A barbecue is something I absolutely love to do during the vacation, so I was happy we managed to do that. I am absolutely not a chef, so I won’t try to brag about that, haha. But I’d say it was pretty successful. Really tasty. We made a lot of different stuff, but I didn’t take a lot of photos… But here you have one!
Vacation at home means looots of movie nights
I am sure I’m not the only one that has had a lot of Netflix time during my vacation. When you’re stuck at home, it’s so easy to stay for hours in front of the tv. But this is the first vacation I haven’t felt bad about it, haha. It’s not like I had anything else I should be doing. More like staying at home, minding my own business. I’ve binged a lot of New Girl, watched a bunch of movies and also checked out a couple of new shows. I will update you if I end up getting hooked on some of them. You guys know me, haha! I’ll admit I’ve watched more Netflix than normal this vacation, but not thaaat much more.
I was talking with my aunt on the phone. She lives an hour away, and normally we spend a lot of time together during the vacation. This year we obviously couldn’t. Luckily we have the opportunity to video-call. My aunt challenged me to be a bit creative, and because of that I’ve actually been doodling a bit, and also trying out some dance routines that I saw on Youtube… I’m not a professional, let’s just leave it at that, haha! At the end of my vacation I was pretty bored… But I found a list of things you can do while social distancing, which helped me out a bit.
Have you guys done anything fun during this crazy summer vacation? Let me know in the comments!
