The Business of Good Lighting for Experiential Excellence
Theatre Lighting Designing and Execution Workshop AV Room & Little Theatre Saturday, 18th & Sunday, 19th – 10.30 am to 5.30 pm In collaboration with Astitva
This is a lighting design workshop for aspiring lighting designers or just about anyone who is curious about understanding light.
Along with a general introduction to lighting for performance, the workshop will discuss light in nature and in art, focusing on its emotional and psychological effects on human beings.
Lighting is not just illumination. Lighting gives space shape, form and volume. No matter how beautiful the space, the architecture or the objects in it are, it is how the light is designed and executed that finally decides how they will eventually look, how they will be perceived. Good lighting can make even un-charming things charming. This workshop introduces the basic principles of Theatre & Dramatics’ light and lighting design, how to use light to create the desired moods, experiences and perceptions and enhance the beauty and feel of any given space, indoors or outdoors.
Participation will be limited to a maximum of 25 – 30 (on a first-come-first-served basis).
Registration Fees: Rs 1,000/- to be paid in Cash Only (Notes and study material will be provided – theory and practical teaching).
