Mumbai, INDIA – July 5, 2012 – Members of the Ladies’ Wing of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber (IMC) were recently introduced to the “World of Gemstones” during a special GIA (Gemological Institute of America) seminar. The group of aspiring entrepreneurs was also taken on an interactive tour of GIA’s diamond grading laboratory in Mumbai.
The seminar highlighted the rarities and origins of various gemstones, as well as a history of popular gemstones throughout the world. Attendees were given tips on how to care for jewellery, and were introduced to GIA’s programmes on gems and jewellery for hobbyists and enthusiasts. They also got a behind-the-scenes look at the world of diamond grading during a guided tour of GIA’s laboratory.
